Our shared vision is to be a welcoming spot in the heart of Opelika where local artisans, makers, and entrepreneurs can share what they've made, and build the kind of connections that make a community feel like home.

Our mission is simple: to root for small businesses, breathe life into the local economy, and build a marketplace where every vendor has a story worth telling—and every customer feels right at home.

ABOUT US

Co-Founders of Manning's Magnolia Mercantile: A smiling couple standing close together in front of a red brick wall, with the man wearing glasses and a maroon shirt and the woman wearing sunglasses and a green patterned dress.

Michael and Jeanne Manning are the husband-and-wife team behind Manning's Magnolia Mercantile, a community-focused marketplace located in the heart of downtown Opelika.

As lifelong believers in the value of hard work, faith, and community, we created Manning's Magnolia Mercantile to provide affordable year-round retail space for local vendors while offering customers a unique shopping experience filled with handcrafted goods, hometown treasures, and Southern hospitality.

After years of serving others through our careers, family, and businesses, we are excited to create a place where local makers, artists, and entrepreneurs can grow together.

Co-Founder

Michael is a retired U.S. Army veteran who spent his career leading teams and keeping operations running smoothly—skills he now brings to Manning's Magnolia Mercantile. After years of serving his country and his community, he wanted to build something that gives back: a place where small businesses can thrive and neighbors can get to know one another.

Jeanne has spent her career building retail spaces people love to walk into. She's also the founder of Continuum Herbals, her own faith-based small business crafting herbal remedies and wellness goods. That firsthand experience as a maker is exactly why creating an inviting, personal shopping experience is so close to her heart—and exactly what she's building at Manning's Magnolia Mercantile.
